Community Protection (Offender Reporting) Act 2004 reforms
Application for a Juvenile Offender Exemption Order
If you were made a reportable offender prior to 31 December 2025 because of an offence you committed in WA when you were a child, you may now be able to apply to the Children’s Court to have your status reviewed. WA Police have written to all persons affected by the change advising them to seek legal advice.
Please complete this form if you have been notified that you are eligible to have your status as a reportable offender reviewed and you would like Legal Aid WA to help you make an application.
- We will review your enquiry and check whether you are eligible for assistance with an application for a juvenile exemption order.
- If you are eligible for assistance, we will contact you by phone to make an appointment or to take an application for legal aid.
- If we can’t assist you, we will try to refer you to another legal service.
